Nyingbulam Jujitsu, founded in 2001 by Jason Carter, also known as Venerable Nyingbu Wangdue, is a martial arts system that has gained recognition and respect over the past 24 years. Carter, an 8th Dan in Japanese Jujitsu and a 3rd Dan in Japanese Karate, is also a Kyoshi in Bujutsu and a Shihan in Seishindo.
For the first two decades after its founding, Nyingbulam Jujitsu was a closely guarded secret, with only selected individuals outside of the direct family being taught and graded in the family ryu. This exclusivity led to the formation of a tight-knit group of practitioners, with only 9 official Black Belts worldwide, all of whom were personally graded by Carter himself.
However, in recent years, Nyingbulam Jujitsu has begun to expand beyond the confines of the direct family, welcoming students and followers from around the world into what Carter affectionately refers to as his Nyingje Family or Sangha. This growth has allowed the art to flourish and reach a wider audience, spreading the teachings and philosophy of Nyingbulam Jujitsu to a global community.
The dedication and passion of Carter and his students have helped to establish Nyingbulam Jujitsu as a respected and revered martial arts ryu, known for its rigorous training methods and emphasis on discipline, respect and compassion. The art continues to evolve and grow, with new generations of practitioners carrying on the traditions and values of the Nyingje Family.
