The book is a doctoral thesis of the author that was titled as ''Role of Selected NGOs in Vidarbha region using Participatory Development Approach'. The thesis is based on the study of beneficiaries of NGOs in Vidarbha region in Maharashtra. This study was based on the application of Amartya Sen's capability approach theory on the NGOs network in Vidarbha which have worked immensely in areas like, women health, child nutrition, employment generation and sanitation. This study has produced policy recommendations for the government for future development in Vidarbha by assessing the regional development backlog in regions like Marathwada and Vidarbha.
Though there are several research articles written on this topic so far, a comprehensive book encompassing all aspects in Vidarbha's economic development and regional gap in Maharashtra is not available. Thus, this book will be immensely useful for researchers and academicians.
