The book theoretically and experimentally substantiates the technologies of electrochemical synthesis and the subsequent use of electrochemically activated metastable substances in various technological processes instead of traditional chemical reagents. Special chapters are dedicated to industrial and household electrochemical systems and technological processes for cleaning and conditioning of drinking water, wastewater, swimming pool water, as well as to electrochemical systems and technologies for converting ordinary fresh water into an extremely strong oxidizing agent or an extremely strong reducing agent, into a catalyst for chemical and biochemical processes, into effective and safe solutions for the treatment of wounds and various diseases in public health and veterinary medicine.
The book also describes modern electrochemical devices and methods of producing form low-mineralized (fresh) water various electrochemically activated solutions (ECA-water) for high-level disinfection. Being effective and environmentally friendly, the ECA-water solutions can be safely used not only for disinfection needs of medical personnel, but also in many other spheres of life, enabling the destruction of biofilms on the inner surface of pipelines, the elimination of black mold on the walls of buildings, etc. The book presents different technological methods of combating microorganisms of all kinds and forms (bacteria, mycobacteria, viruses, fungi, spores) on various objects of animate and inanimate nature.
Electrochemical activation, being a universal technology, is used in many areas of human activity, including chemical, petrochemical, food industry and agribusiness, gold and uranium mining and many others. The implementation of ECA technology significantly increases or multiply the efficiency of various technological processes, proportionally reducing the costs (CAPEX, OPEX) at the same time.
